Q-Park help London support services and local businesses return to work

Q-Park introduced a scheme in collaboration with Westminster Council to provide a low-cost parking solution for key workers and support services to help them return to work safely.

The scheme allowed for this group of key workers to receive safe and secure parking from as little as £5 in the heart of London with nearly 200 people already applying for a special card.

The current government advice is to avoid public transport where it is almost impossible to socially distance so the opportunity to avoid risk and avail of quality parking in these uncertain times is invaluable. Driving is currently the safest way to travel and Q-Park have ensured that all 17 safe and secure car parks across Westminster are regularly deep cleaned and sanitised and open to the public.

Westminster Council had previously been providing free parking for their keyworkers on-street but the cost burden was becoming significant and an easing of the lockdown also meant that keyworkers were finding it harder to find an available space. In a unique public and private sector arrangement, Q-Park and Westminster Council came to an agreement which benefits key workers as London starts to get back on its feet.

Adam Bidder, Managing Director of Q-Park UK commented ‘We are absolutely delighted to be able to offer discounted parking to Keyworkers in Westminster. These dedicated professionals provide vital services in these difficult times. We are pleased to be able to reward their efforts by offering a safe and clean environment for them to get to their place of work whilst minimising the risk of infection’.
