Q-Park are delighted to announce the introduction of 20 EV Charging Points across four of their parking facilities in Glasgow City Centre.

Q-Park have had a strong presence across the city which has grown significantly since they first arrived in Glasgow in 2003. They now operate five safe and secure parking facilities spread out across the heart of the city. With facilities ranging from Q-Park Waterloo Street in the business district to Q-Park Sauchiehall Street near the main shopping thoroughfares and even Q-Park Candleriggs in the historic Trongate district, Q-Park have the breadth of locations to meet the requirements of every visitor to Glasgow. With over 2,000 parking spaces there is plenty of parking available and Q-Park are renowned for providing safe and secure parking as well as some of Glasgow’s widest parking spaces.

Q-Park are currently investing over £3m in the UK and Ireland on the rollout of initially over 600 electric vehicle charging points across their portfolio of parking facilities. Installations commenced last year and included the modernisation of the existing charging infrastructure with the latest state-of-the-art hardware. On completion of this significant deployment programme, discussions will start on future phases with Q-Park eager to remain at the forefront of electric charging in the parking market.

Now that the works across Glasgow have been completed, there are now 20 x 22kW EV Charging Points operated by Blink Charging and are available on a pay as you go basis. They are clearly signposted in each parking facility and customers simply download the Blink Charging - EB Go! smart phone app which is available for free download in the Apple and Google Play store.

John Denton, Head of Commercial at Q-Park UK and IE commented ‘We have a long and proud history of providing Quality parking facilities across Glasgow City Centre. Liveability in urban areas is vitally important, and we are delighted to help support more emission free miles being driven with good quality charging infrastructure.
