Q-Park have launched a new solution to help local business offer safe and secure bike parking services to their employees.
Employees are changing the way they commute to work and cycling is on the rise. This can be a challenge for city centre businesses who do not have the space to accommodate bikes in a secure or dry environment. To solve this increasing challenge, Q-Park have launched a new solution to help local business offer safe and secure bike parking services to their employees.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19 many employees have been working from home following the Government Guidance. As the lockdown began to ease some employees returned to work but the guidance also advised people to avoid public transport. This has led to many workers looking for a greener healthier way to get to their office. The challenge with many city centres is that there is limited and sometimes no secure bicycle parking and the majority of offices do not have the space to facilitate this onsite. This results in many cyclists finding unsafe space on street to park the bike with the risk of returning at the end of the working day to find their expensive bicycle has been stolen. The highest rate of bicycle thefts took place in London, statistics from Direct Line Insurance revealed that a total of 21,745 bikes were reported stolen in London last year, accounting for nearly a quarter of all UK bike thefts.
Despite being renowned for safe and secure parking services, since the lockdown eased Q-Park have been in inundated with requests from Businesses for secure Bicycle Parking. Q-Park are synonymous with innovation in the parking sector and have created this service to respond to the rising customer mobility needs.
Businesses can now take space in a Q-Park parking facility to use as their very own bike parking area in all major cities in the UK. Q-Park will create a secure branded reserved area which is in our safe and secure facilities. The company will be issued with door access cards so the employees can enter and exit the car park via our secure pedestrian doors.
John Denton, Head of Sales and Marketing commented ‘We are delighted to be able to offer yet another product that meets our customers needs in this fluid ever changing world. We encourage any business to contact us so we discuss this bespoke parking requirement to help the country get back to work safely.’
