Q-Park has expanded its UK portfolio with the addition of 20 parking facilities, bringing its brand and service offering to a wider range of towns and cities while supporting the continued availability of convenient parking for customers, local communities and businesses. As one of the UK's largest parking operators, Q-Park has consistently focused on opportunities that strengthen and grow the business while continually enhancing the quality of its services for customers. Through strategic investment, innovation and carefully considered acquisitions, the company has expanded its presence and broadened the range of parking solutions it is able to offer. A strong example of this strategy was the acquisition of Britannia Parking in 2024. The purchase represented a significant milestone in Q-Park's continued growth, expanding its operational footprint and enabling the business to serve more customers across the UK.
Q-Park entered into negotiations with a landlord who owns a number of car parks and following the signature of the contract can confirm that they will take over the following parking facilities on 8th August 2026:
In addition, the following car parks will operate under the Britannia Parking brand:
With the previous operator of these locations having entered administration, there was a genuine risk that, like a number of other facilities, these car parks could have ceased operating. This acquisition helps secure their long-term future, ensuring that convenient parking remains available for the local community while providing continued support for local businesses, visitors and the wider local economy. All of these parking facilities have been acquired by Q-Park on long-term leases, providing the company with the opportunity to invest in their future and enhance the overall customer experience.
This long-term commitment allows Q-Park to undertake comprehensive refurbishment programmes across both vehicle parking areas and pedestrian routes, improving the appearance, functionality and accessibility of each location. In addition, modern parking management equipment can be installed alongside digital customer services such as online pre-booking and the Q-Park app, enabling a more convenient and seamless parking experience. Where appropriate, Q-Park can also invest in EV charging infrastructure, ensuring the facilities are well positioned to meet the growing demand for electric vehicle charging while supporting the transition to more sustainable transport.
Adam Bidder, Managing Director of Q-Park UK commented "We are delighted to have completed this agreement, which marks a significant expansion of our portfolio of city centre parking facilities across the UK. It allows us to bring the Q-Park brand and service offering to a wider range of towns and cities, including locations where we have not previously operated. We remain committed to investing in our network and will continue to explore further acquisition opportunities as part of our long-term growth strategy."
