Light Night Leeds returns on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 October 2026, transforming the city centre with spectacular projections, illuminated artworks and immersive installations from artists and creatives.

Due to road closures across Leeds city centre for Light Night, many car parks in Leeds will be unavailable for this event. Visitors should therefore pre-book parking at Q-Park Sovereign Square, which will remain available for Light Night parking. Use code LIGHTN10 for 10% off your booking.

For 2026, Light Night Leeds will form part of the city's Leeds 400 celebrations. Under the theme 'A City Speaks...', this year's programme will use light and creativity to explore Leeds' history, identity and future while bringing some of the city's best-known spaces to life after dark.

Parking for Light Night Leeds

If you're travelling into Leeds for Light Night, Q-Park Sovereign Square is the recommended Q-Park location for the event. Due to road closures associated with Light Night, other many car parks in Leeds city centre will be unavailable.

We recommend planning your journey in advance. From Sovereign Square, you can continue on foot into the city centre and explore the different Light Night installations and event zones.

What to expect at Light Night Leeds 2026

Light Night Leeds is one of the city's biggest annual cultural events, turning familiar streets, buildings and public spaces into a huge open-air gallery after dark.

Visitors can expect a mix of large-scale projections, illuminated installations, interactive artworks and immersive experiences positioned throughout Leeds city centre.

The 2026 edition will be particularly significant as part of the city's 400th anniversary celebrations. This year's theme, 'A City Speaks...', will invite artists to explore stories from Leeds' past while also looking towards the city's future.

For the first time, Light Night Leeds will take place during the October half-term holidays, making the event particularly accessible for families and visitors planning an evening in the city.

With large numbers of visitors expected we recommend pre-booking your space at Q-Park Sovereign Square before travelling and checking the official programme to plan which installations and areas you want to visit.
