Starting outside Cardiff Castle, the route heads towards Penarth and Cardiff Bay before returning through the city and around Roath Park for a memorable finish in Cardiff's Civic Centre.

If you're travelling into Cardiff for the Half Marathon, pre-booking your parking before race day can help make your journey easier. Q-Park Westgate Street and Q-Park Greyfriars both provide convenient city centre parking options for runners, friends, family and spectators.
Q-Park Westgate Street is particularly well positioned for the start of the race. The car park is located on Westgate Street, close to Cardiff Castle and Castle Street where runners assemble for the start.
Q-Park Greyfriars provides another centrally located option and is well positioned for the northern side of the city centre and Cardiff Civic Centre, where runners will cross the finish line on King Edward VII Avenue.
Road closures will operate across Cardiff before and during the race, including around Castle Street, the Civic Centre and sections of the course. Please check the latest road closure information and plan your route to the car park before travelling.

The Cardiff Half Marathon starts on Castle Street, directly in front of Cardiff Castle. The elite wheelchair race begins shortly before the main field, with the first main race waves setting off at 10am and further waves following from 10.10am.
From the castle, runners head through the city and past Principality Stadium before travelling towards Penarth. The route takes in Penarth Marina and Cardiff Bay Barrage before passing some of Cardiff Bay's best-known landmarks, including the Senedd, Norwegian Church and Wales Millennium Centre.
After leaving Cardiff Bay, runners head back through the city before completing a loop around Roath Park Lake. The final section brings runners back towards the Civic Centre, with the finish line on King Edward VII Avenue.
The Cardiff Half Marathon Event Village is located nearby on Cardiff City Hall Lawns, making this the main post-race area for runners and spectators.
The Cardiff Half Marathon attracts tens of thousands of participants and spectators, and significant road closures will be in operation throughout the city.
