Park Mark Awards

Did you know that vehicle crime accounts for 20%* of all crime in the UK?

Did you also know that 22%* of this vehicle crime occurs in car parks?

Q-Park take vehicle crime very seriously and make every attempt to ensure cars parked inside our car parks are as safe as possible. As a result of Q-Park’s efforts to offer secure parking facilities, most of our car parks have been awarded a Park Mark safety award.

What is Park Mark?

Park Mark is a safer parking scheme, which is an initiative of the Association of Chief Police Officers, aimed at reducing the levels of crime in parking facilities. The scheme is run by the British Parking Association (BPA) and car parks have to go through strict assessments to gain accreditation. All car parks are marked on the following criteria;

  • Management of the facility
  • Levels of surveillance
  •  Lighting in the car park
  • Signage in the car park
  • Appropriate levels of cleanliness

Risk assessments are carried out by police to assess the safety aspects of the car park and to ensure that the car park operator has put sufficient measures in place to deter criminal activity and make their customers feel safe.

If a car park meets the standards required in all criteria, then it will be awarded a Park Mark safety award. According to police statistics, Park Mark sites have seen up to 80%* reduction in crime.

Q-Park are proud to be able to offer so many parking facilities with Park Mark safety accreditations. We hope that all of our customers feel safe when parking at any Q-Park car park.

 All car parks with a Park Mark award will have the below logo displayed on their parking page:
