Q-Park receives six ParkMark awards for Taunton hospital

Q-Park has received six ParkMark awards for its car park operation at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, and is recipient of the two thousandth award made through the Safer Parking Scheme.

The awards cover the six existing surface car parks totalling 1,000 spaces on the 33 acre campus that Q-Park manage under a 25-year PFI. Since taking over the contract in June 2005, Q-Park have invested over £1m in a new customer service glass fronted lodge, latest state-of-the-art CCTV that includes pinhole cameras at each barrier terminal and new parking management system linked back to the UK Central Control Room in Leeds. These high-tech solutions with excellent well-trained onsite staff focussed on customer service ensure the zero crime statistics are maintained. A further £6m is being invested in a new 750 space MSCP on the site.

Q-Park’s Chief Executive Alan Ashbee said: “These awards reflect our commitment to the highest levels of safety and security especially in the Healthcare sector where we now hold 31 ParkMark awards. External recognition of Q-Park’s high standards of comfort and safety is always welcomed and this is why we fully support the Safer Parking Scheme and design our facilities to exceed the ParkMark requirements.

I am extremely proud to be the 2000th recipient of this award and look forward to the day when all public and private car parks are recognised by the scheme as being safe to park.”
