A 9km walk around Liverpool centre, consisting of around 1,000 women, in aid of the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, has been a huge success, thanks to the local Q-Park team.
Participants of the Liver Birds Midnight Walk parked at the Liverpool ONE Q-Park and were given 50% discount off their overnight parking rate allowing them to park in one of the safest car parks in the City Centre which is manned 24 hours a day, well lit, secure and therefore perfect for women driving alone.
Half the money taken by Q-Park on the night is being donated to the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, the only charity in the world dedicated solely to defeating lung cancer by being committed to medical research, offering support to those affected by lung cancer and providing help groups for those wanting to stop smoking.
Said Matthew Boyle, Community Fund raising Manager of the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation: “On behalf of everyone at the Charity I would like to thank Q-Park for all their help and support. Having Q-Park’s involvement helped make the event the huge success that it was. I would like to give special thanks also to the Q-Park attendants who helped direct the walkers to their cars and ensure they felt safe.”
