Safety First for Q-Park in Reading
Friday, 08 May 2009

Staff at a local car park are celebrating a zero crime rating since the car park opened in 2007.

Q-Park Chatham Place car park, located near Broad Street Shopping Centre, has recently attained an industry Park Mark Award for its high standards of safety and security making it perfect for the safety conscious mums, senior citizens and women on their own.

The Q-Park team have taken extensive measures to ensure the public feel safe when using the customer focused parking destination. The car park is manned 24/7 and the Parking Hosts carry out patrols every hour; the pedestrian entrances are secure; only those with a parking ticket can gain access to them. There is both CCTV and evening vehicle entrance security shutters to prevent undesirables from entering the building.

The Parking Hosts have been trained to follow a thorough Clean and Safe Programme which maintains high standards of cleanliness throughout all areas of the car park.

Customers also benefit from the availability of baby buggies and umbrellas which customers can hire at no extra charge and there is also a shoe shine machine.

Said Adam Bidder, Managing Director of Q-Park: “We work tremendously hard to ensure that we keep crime out of our car parks whilst keeping them safe, clean and friendly.”
