York Drivers Reach Holland at the Press of a Button
Friday, 17 April 2009
As York continues to grow in to a 24 hour city, the newly refurbished Q-Park car park on Kent Street is opening 24 hours, allowing the public to park and collect their cars at any time, night or day.

This new innovative service has been introduced to accommodate night-workers, party animals and those staying in nearby hotels (such as the Novotel, Best Western Pavilion and Hotel 53).

Progressive technology is now being used to allow the 24 hour opening, in the form of a control room in Holland, where staff monitor on-site camera images on a wide bank of video screens. Customers who make contact via the intercom system, for example to solve problems with payment, quickly get though to a member of staff in the Q-Park Control Room who can assist round the clock. They also have the ability to move and monitor the CCTV cameras in the Kent Street parking destination.

Said Adam Bidder, Managing Director of Q-Park: “York is a cosmopolitan City with much to offer by day and night. We are doing our best to accommodate this by providing both exceptional customer service and convenience to its residents and visitors.”

A stay of up to 24 hours in Q-Park Kent Street costs £6.50.

Plans are currently being drawn up for a refurbishment of the Q-Park Shambles car park.
