Bubbles filled the room as an entire level of the car park was transformed into an underwater setting, with a mermaid sitting on a clam shell, pearls and jewels adorning the tables and chairs, attractive waiters and waitresses dressed in sailor uniforms and a captivating magician completing the theme. Many of the guests endeavoured to test their balancing skills on the surf simulator which provided endless entertainment and amusement for all.
Some 200 guests, including Miles Dunnett from Grosvenor Estates, Joanne Jennings, CEO Liverpool ONE, Roy Tunstall from Liverpool City Council Parking Services and Inspector Ian Noble of the Mersey Police Crime Reduction Unit and others were treated to a selection of oriental cuisine from Chaophraya, with Adam Bidder MD of Q-Park GB declaring the car park officially open. Mark Omond, North West representative of the Park Mark scheme was on hand to officially hand over a plaque certifying the highest standards for the car park's safety and design.
The striking 2000-space underground car park, with atrium styling, art gallery feel, granite steps and dramatic lighting, is one of three ultra stylish car parks for the ambitious Liverpool ONE development. The other two car parks include the sleek Q-Park John Lewis, with its eye-catching glass bridge; and the elegant Q-Park Hanover Street providing over 1000 additional parking spaces.
